My boss introduced me once to a friend of his. Her name was Ida and she was s sculptress. She invited us to her huge house which also served as her studio. She sculpted animals and people. At the entrance of her studio stood a mean looking dog sculpture. The dog looked menacing and so real.

Upon entering hey studio I saw another dog sculpture; this time that of a smiling and friendly dog. Sculpting dogs I learned was not easy. One had to know exactly how each dog breed felt like. Not all dogs have the same coat so the artist must know exactly how soft or how coarse a particular dog breed is. It helped that the sculptress was a dog lover herself. Most of her dogs were life size and looked very real.
