You will never go wrong by going to the bookstore and picking up a few books on the dachshund. Dachshund books will tell you everything you want to know about this particular breed of dog. If you want to start training your dog, look for books with detailed instructions preferably one that offers pictures. It will not be easy as dachshunds are known to be stubborn. But with perseverance and with some help form experienced friends you should be able to tame him, even teach him a few tricks.

Like all dogs, he will need some exercise; therefore one of the first things that he should learn is how to walk with you. Walking doesn’t mean letting him out in the yard.
