Pets need to be cared for just like humans. But unlike dogs and cats, caring for ferrets is not quite as easy to do. If you are a new ferret owner, you owe it to your pet and yourself to learn about ferret care as much as possible.

Here are some basic ferret care tips:

~Pay attention to grooming. Give your pet a bath once a month or so and use a special ferret shampoo from the pet store.
~Clean ears and trim your pet’s nails as well as check his teeth. You may want to ask another family member to help you out.
~Keep your ferret’s bedding and play room clean to discourage the invasion of fleas
~Be conscious of ferret safety while your pet is out of its cage.
