A dog frisbee is a pliable disc made of soft and yet durable material is a dog toy used by many. The idea is for the human to throw the dog Frisbee over varied distances and for the dog to catch it. The disc looks simple but it is able to fly through the air with speed and accuracy. It is so designed that the dog is able to pick it up from flat surfaces with ease. It is a great interactive toy that will develop bonding between owners and pets while both profit from some exercise.

Some dog frisbee activities have been raised to the level of competition. Some groups organize competitions that can range from simple “toss and fetch” or distance catching contests to more serious events that feature short routines choreographed to music. In some instances, multiple discs are in play. Most of these competitions are held in the summer on flat grassy fields as in a park or school grounds. Obviously, some training is required for the dog to learn how to chase and catch the disc.
