For Christmas, I gave my son a bulldog. Both he and the puppy looked so cute when they first met each other. It was love at first sight. He named the bulldog Shrek, after the famous ogre. After reading a book about bulldogs, we decided to get shrek a couple of dog toys.

Dog toys are important for puppies. They need it as a form or exercise to keep them from getting bored and to prevent them from chewing our stuff. I would rather get him toys than finding out he made minced meat out of my favorite running shoe. There are two things you want from a dog toy. First, you don’t want it to resemble anything you want your dog to chew. For example, you don’t want a dog toy in the shape of a shoe. Otherwise, you’ll find all your shoes gnawed on. Second, you don’t want to get a dog toy that has a whistle on it; the one where when you squeeze or he bites it makes a squeaking sound. Your dog might bite through it and choke on the whistle.
