Dogs also need several medicines to keep them healthier. They need dog heartworm medication as well as medicines to prevent fleas and ticks. For older dogs, they may also need medication for their bones and joints, most especially if the dog has been injured. These medications usually come in flavored gels, tablets, and suspensions, to make it easier to administer to the dog and to make sure the dog will not reject it because of the taste.
