healthy bird food

You want your pet bird to stay with you as long as possible. This is the reason why you will want to provide it with healthy bird food. They need vegetables, beans, seeds and legumes every day. Two or three times a week you should give them fruits and nuts. On special occasions, as an extraordinary treat, they will enjoy nutrient rich and delicious food such as yogurt or peanut butter.

Of course, certain birds will have unique diet requirements. Not only that; birds has certain preferences within the food groups. Being observant will ensure that you are not giving them food that they don’t eat and is just wasted. Treat the food that you give them the way you would treat food that you eat. Wash them first, if possible with the special wash that you use in your fruits and vegetables. Avoid giving them spoiled food and make sure that cooked food should be discarded after a couple of hours.
